2024 Summer Intensive: The Distorted Mirror: Reflections on Attachment Wounds. An Experiential Journey for Helping Clients Heal

Clients frequently come to therapy because their developmental needs were not met in childhood. They may have difficulty with trust and attachment, may not feel seen or heard, or may have a fear of abandonment. As an infant, developmentally, it is important to be accurately mirrored by one's caregivers. When this does not happen, we often have difficulty trusting our feelings and perceptions, which later may result in dysfunctional relationships and attachment issues. Healing attachment wounds can help clients to transform old relationship patterns and experience greater connection. In this experiential workshop, clinicians will have the opportunity to explore their own attachment style while learning strategies to assist clients in becoming more attuned to themselves and others. Psychodrama is well known as a group modality. However, this weekend training will give therapists an opportunity to learn and practice skills designed for their work in individual sessions.
