Veils of Illusion

Workshop

This skills based, psychodrama workshop will help clinicians work with the client-therapist relationship. Research studies show that despite differences in modality the critical factor is the relationship between the client and clinician. We will look at poor motivation, resistance and transference as they relate to this relationship on both sides of the couch.

2020 Virtual psychodrama summer camp: "The Body Remembers What the Mind Forgets" - Psychodramatic Approaches to the Mind-Body Connection

Workshop

JL Moreno, the father of Psychodrama said, “The body remembers what the mind forgets.” His ground breaking work in the use of action methods has been recently validated by clinical research. This research revealed a high correlation between uncleared developmental and adult traumas and the onset of physical and emotional illnesses. For example, people who experienced early childhood mind and body traumas were far more likely to have serious illnesses in early adulthood than those who did not suffer from such traumas. Other authors such as John Sarno, Bessel van der Kolk, and Nicole Sachs have written and researched the impact of emotional trauma, unresolved conflicts, and grief on the physical body.  In this experiential workshop  participants will learn how to help their clients understand and explore through action this life changing concept of the mind/body connection.
